@artsygang I spotted this photo taken by John@congaree and wanted to paint it. Weirdly I can't find the photo at is sight, but am pretty sure it is his....anyhow, here's my interpretation. I did this 3 different times: first with color wash behind, then sketched with ink to color after and then a combination of the two as I went: this is the result of that exercise. Ellen @theredcamera

I love this sort of painting, realism with abstract. did you draw in a horizen and the disapearing point or just do it naturally with your skills??

@30pics4jackiesdiamond I did as you said, got that line at the green lawn and used a ruler to get the lampposts in line and create the vanishing point. I like your comment about the combination of realism and abstract; that's why I like watercolor, you can give the illusion of something and the observer completes it in their mind.
