Southern Magnolia by thewatersphotos

Southern Magnolia

I needed some "green" and this is the only thing on our place that looks green. We have three of these and they are beautiful but smell even better when blooming...a very sweet fragrance.
Pretty shot. Good details. It always amazes me to see how green this tree remains, especially in the winter time.

Beautiful glossy leaves - didn't think about the fact that they keep their shiny leaves year round. Do love the smell of their blooms. And the grow to be such a big size. Lucky you.

@milaniet Thanks Milanie! We grew these two from very small seedlings. They are 25 - 30 feet tall now!

Oh gosh magnolia flowers are so beautiful. I've seen them in Louisiana, and also had one in the front yard when we moved from Minnesota to Oregon. The flowers are glorious but oh many, I cut one and brought it in the house and floated it in a big bowl in the house. It wasn't long I had to take it out. The fragrance is beautiful, but honestly too strong in the house for me. Nice shiny leaves and nice composition and like the sunlight off of it.

@francoise I think we all need green in the "drab of winter"...especially where there is no snow! Thanks Francoise!
