Tracks in Railroad Town by thewatersphotos

Tracks in Railroad Town

The west end of town has a single track that goes to the next town, with a few side tracks.
This shot intrigues me! Love the lines and color tones.

Like this. Gives the feeling of an impending adventure with the leading line of the tracks heading towards the woods in the distance. Nice 😊

Lovely leading lines drawing me in to this one and questioning where the tracks will lead.

@milaniet Thanks Milanie. Actually, it did me, as well. It came out of the camera looking different, which is why I chose to share it.

@mrskmacd Thanks Kate. I think this is why I am drawn to rails so much. I enjoy the journey and wonderment of life.

Really, really like this shot, Gary. It was fun analyzing just *how* switches work! FAV

@rhoing Thanks Thom! I actually never thought about "how" but now as I look at the rails I wonder "HOW" does it work?? My brother sells train cars and works with a lot of train folk...I'll have to ask him to explain it to me!!

@thewatersphotos Nah. Just think about (1) the shape of the wheels (larger on the outside than the inside), (2) which sets of rails would make those wheels go straight ahead, and (3) which sets of rails would make those wheels go off to the right! It's a Highlights magazine quiz at the doctor's office!! ;)
