The hay cutting begins... by thewatersphotos

The hay cutting begins...

Of our 40 acres, about 26 acres are dedicated to growing hay. My brother-in-law manages it, which means fertilizing it, spraying for pests and weeds, cutting, bailing and removing all the hay, which he either sells or feeds to the family sheep operation.
Today is cutting day.

A busy time for your brother in law. Sounds like a well run operation. Great shot of him in action.

It does sound like a lot of work but it’s necessary.

Make hay while the sun shines. And it's always as hot as the devil!

@carolmactx Thanks, indeed it is. The sheep like to eat in the winter when there is no grazing.
