For fun, my wife bought several packets of "wild flower" seeds. She planted them in big flower pots at the foot of our steps in the front. I think they are sprouted so there are hundreds of small flowers. Many are not familiar to us, but they are very pretty!
@randystreat Thanks, Kathy! I'm sure there are weeds in these pots, but then many produce blooms, as well.
The pots have been successful. It makes watering and caring for the flowers AND vegetables (herbs, tomatoes, squash and peppers) much more manageable for us. I think I will plan on expanding next year and consider adding "drip irrigation".
