Tomato blooms... by thewatersphotos

Tomato blooms...

We planted several tomato plants this year in various locations. This one is in a large pot. I'll post if we get any tomatoes from it!
Lovely pic with a great DOF

We got 3 tomatoes from our plant and there is a 4th one that still needs to ripen… no other blooms from what I can tell… maybe it has been too hot?

Beautiful clarity on these pretty and very healthy-looking tomato plants.

I remember being so surprised the first time I photographed tomato flowers and learned it was a tomato plant! We don't always think about the full picture of where our food comes from! (This has been one of many benefits of my 365 participation for so long!)

Curious: does it help the fruit to prune off the flowers (so the plant's energy goes to producing fruit)?

@rhoing My husband (who took a Master Gardener class) prunes off any branches with NO flowers to give more nutrients to the flowers that become tiny tomatoes. :-) Don't prune off the flowers!!

Love the earthy aroma of a tomato plant. Nice flowers and good advice from Barb there.
