Fruity

We are trying to expand our food variety so I got a bunch of different kinds of fruit at the grocery store this week...kiwi seemed the most photogenic :)

Good thing, too. This was my first shot and I got about two more before my battery died. Oops. Oh well, I'm happy with how it turned out.

May I ask how this was done? Getting the lighting so focused and bright on the kiwi but the background so dark?

@rellimdj I used a black velvet background (velvet is great because it doesn't reflect light), macro lens, and flash from the left side with an off camera flash, using a flash cord. There was some natural light coming from the same direction, which I think also helped.
