"K" is for Kangaroo

We have dear friends that are from Australia and it just so happens we were scheduled to go to a wallaby/kangaroo ranch with playgroup this week so Australia week it is! Our crafts included our kangaroo "K", a newspaper collage koala bear, the Australian flag, the Sydney Opera House using paper plates, and we made our own didgeridoos (after watching a video of one being played). I gave them a lesson on facts about Australia, including the Great Barrier Reef so we also did our fish puzzle. We made lamingtons (delicicious!) which was a great lesson on measurements, etc. We did a fun invisible ink science experiment and wrote secret messages to our "friends in Australia" using milk and heat. It was also fun to play a game where we were human boomerangs (not pictured). Lastly, there was the wallaby/kangaroo ranch today which was an amazing experience. We learned so much, especially about babies. We walked with them, pet them, fed them, and even saw a baby in her mother's pouch.
How'd we do Lisa @lisatork? :)
Wow that sure looks like a fun week. I love the wee Koala they made and the pic of your kids with the Kangaroo. Awesome.
