I wish I would have prepared myself better for photographing the famous Japanese maple at the Portland Japanese Garden, but the wrong lens/camera yielded less than stellar results. Hey, at least I got to see it and had an amazing time in Portland.
I love the curving silhouetted lines of the branches, the light on the moss, and the airy light through the leaves, particularly where you got the patch of blue where it really brings out the lacy leaves. Perhaps not what you envisioned, but still quite breathtaking.
