Went to Ashbourne in Derbyshire yesterday, one thing they are famed for is Shrovetide Football, the goal post's are Three Miles Apart and the game can get very rough. If you want to no more please go on line.
@yonnie Thanks Yvonne, Yes its 3 miles long and 2miles wide, Men Women and Children Play, It runs for two days Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday. Its the largest football game in the world, shops are boarded up because its like a war zone (in a friendly way). it started in 1683. You have to see it to be-leave it.
@doblaine Thanks David, They had all the Bunting out because it was the Queens Jubilee, and Highland Games they hold every year, but this is the first year its been canceled because of FLOOD.
