Newton's Wonder by tonygig

Newton's Wonder

This is the largest tree I have in the garden, it's a cooking apple called Newtons Wonder and is over 100 years old but still produces a excellent crop.
It is beautiful!

Fine orchard's scenery! The feeling of freshness in the air! Interesting information on the age of the tree. Does it influence on the taste of apples, btw?
May 21st, 2013
Thank you Anatoly, I cut it hardback 30 years ago and then pruned it every other year since, and the taste of the apples have got a bit sweeter but still have the tartness of a cooking apple.

How wonderful that it still produces so many apples after 100 years, you must take very good care of it!
