Ooh ! Tony , I remember the Mangle in the "washhouse" and a fire lit boiler in the corner ! Great fun (and exercise ) turning the large wheel !! A great find even down the post war green paint -- although I can not remember green paint in our house !! I love going round these social history museums !! fav

Oh gosh my mom had an electric washing machine but it had roller tops to wring out the clothes that had been washed. This is beautiful. FAV

Ah, the mangle - responsible for many a greenstick fracture as small arms so easily caught in them. Fabulous shot of domestic technology.

Love the processing on this...it;s a really lovely image. My mother had a mangle. .. but I always thought it was a bit scary.

Beautiful shot to be sble to bring to mind such vivid memories of childhood. I've seen old washboards, but nothing like this. Electricity really has changed so many things for us! I 'd still like to be able to find and use a washboard, though....

A perfect choice for your Hdr rendition Tony. I remember seeing these as a child, this one looks quite ornate. I notice it has a padlock on which must be for health and safety. Nicely done.
