Loading Trestle

The loading trestles at Two harbors, Minnesota, simply put are massively dominant . They are the main features of this harbor and are used to load massive ore carriers with taconite pellets that are shipped to various places to make steel. You can get an idea of their size by comparing to the yellow and red tug boat to the right and the blue fish house on the ice. Not as romantic as the lighthouse but very interesting and one might say, very large!
An interesting shot and description. Takes me back to a few hazy memories of geography lessons when we studied The Great Lakes in High School!

@dolphin Yes I too studied the Mesabi Iron Range and the shipping on the Great Lakes. Still an important transportation hub!

I saw it enlarged and it looks AMAZING!!! I have no idea how it works but it does look impressive and huge. The red/yellow thing on the right side.. is it a boat? This thing must be gigantic!

@deniseescovino Yes it is hugh.. Big ships get loaded from it; the slanted sides drop down to the ships cargo holds...the yellow and red is a good size tug boat.
