Well I broke down and went to National Camera and picked up an old 3.5 200mm Minolta MC
Rokkor x lens for 29.99. All metal all manual. Did not use a tripod really a beautiful lens. Shot wide open so shallow depth of field, I wish I had better eyes for manual focus.
Good for you for trying different things. This looks pretty focused to me. Plus, I had no idea what a female cardinal looks like. Although not as flashy as the males, they have their own subtle beauty.
Two thumbs up for your bravery! I don't trust my eyes, 100%, to manage manual focus. You did very nicely... this is a lovely shot. I notice that it fits on your Olympus? Did you need an adaptor? This is my camera, too, so just curious.
@rosiekerr Rosie you do need an adaptor. The em-1 really works well since it has in body stabilization. The fn2 button has several functions
already programed one is magnification. I bought the Fotodiox adaptor .
I think it cost around $20.00.
