Ice and Reflections by tosee

Ice and Reflections

Tried to capture a hint of lake Superior in the background and just a dab of muted color of the
lichen on the hard brittle and porous basalt. The
pool of water in the foreground is in a hollow created by the erosion of the basalt. Everything is secondary to the ice the twigs and the reflections.
Shot with the old manual focus Minolta 135mm at f/2.8. The hint of color and image does look better viewed on black me thinks (1st time I have said this)
Lovely tone. Love the ice and reflection.

You are correct, that color really does pop out when viewed on black. Neat layers and textures in the image.
