When Pam and I were walking around The holding
pond for Medicine Lake we were remarking about the absence of softshells generally scene digging holes and laying eggs in the sandy gravel near the foot bridge over the holding pond. When we got to the other side we notice a lot of holes in the gravel and then, once again Pam spotted the wildlife, a
very small tiny baby softshell turtle in the duck weed and algae. It took awhile of Pam directing my
gaze for me to spot this baby turtle, so small. Snapped a few photos and as I tried to get closer
my foot slipped on the loose gravel and down I went camera and all but I was close, very close and snapped this photo. Not only was I close but this is a radical crop. If you look at the specks of duck weed on the turtle that will give you an idea of the tiny size of this little baby beauty.
