Red Wing Blackbird

Shouting out it's mating call "Spring is coming,
hurry my dear I have a nice warm home for You"
The feathers are so full, tiny, tight and smooth looks like a
warm down or fur covering
I can practically hear the song! Beautiful light and wonderfully vibrant red wing patches.

I love these birds. What a great image - face on, beak wide open. Super.

I love how it's talking (or singing) to you. I think of my grandparents when I see these birds (which is not often as they don't come this far south). They lived across the boulevard from the St. Lawrence River and we would see these birds when we walked along the river with my grandfather.

Great capture -- love the 'head on' position and its open beak. Well done!
