@hermann that's the cab of the train driver. Initially allowed through gangways between sets when coupled together. During refurbishment the gangways were sealed shut. The reason for that was that the gangways often failed which caused delays. @gigiflower in this case it 's the front of the train. Although trains in the Netherlands do drive of the right side of a dual track railway. But some reason this rush hour service to Amsterdam always departs at the "wrong platform".
