The ducks have moulted and are coming on to lay. So they are both testing out their wings and looking for suitable nesting spots. yesterday this one found herself high up on the top platform of the windmill and spent quite some time up there before she plucked up the courage to fly back down.
Cute pic! It is interesting that birds don't actually know instinctively how to get down from high places. I guess it would be the same as us climbing something tall with a parachute we've never used before...
