Well, it's not the jeweled hilt of a sword but the tip of a slavia stem in bloom. My garden has suffered in my absence from the intrusion of hens, dogs and rabbits but none of them can like salvia which is looking very pretty laden in deep purple blooms. I liked the symmetry of this close up so have popped it on to signal my return home.
