On 5th Jan I announced the arrival of these little fellows. For several days after that all I saw was a little pink featherless head pop up over the edge of the nest and by the time I had the camera focused it was gone again. Now on the 9th day they are getting so big they fill the nest. A close look shows both babies - one nestled in beside the other. Its been very interesting following their progress. Next stage...flight.
very cute. They used to nest in a vine near the door at our farm. People coming and going all day didn't seem to bother them ... and yet I remember another WW family that had nested on a bush on the route that dozens of uni students walked past each day ... and they went nuts dive-bombing everyone they could.
Hope they survive and fly away. I was watching a juvenile yesterday, pecking the ticks of my poddy. It was on the ground behind poddies back hooves not a very safe place to be.
