Tipuana

Same Shape ... my shapes are natural shapes that form layers. Today I'm featuring the shapes made by the beautifully textured bark of the Tipuana tree. The little ones (great grandchildren) love to play in its shade and climb its big, broad trunk.
Lovely bark. What is the red??

@michellegaynor Tipuana is also called rosewood and the red is some rosey sap dripping from a small wound on the tree where the little ones stripped of a layer of bark.

They grow to be big spreading trees. I remember when Clem Jones introduced them to Brisbane - the city hall square I think! I love the texture with the red peeping through.
