Rust 3

The rusting handle of an old flat iron or smoothing iron. What a job it must have been to iron with one of these. I find it hard enough to get enthused with a modern electric steam iron.

Hideous, hideous idea to iron with it. I shudder at the thought and am mindful of the industrial scale of my ironing pile waiting for me....!

The colours are so earthy. I remember my mother using these irons and then she got a petrol iron. What dangerous things! The ironing job doesn't get any better even with modern equipment.

Lovely composition. My dad who was a tailor had irons like these. They now adorn my sister's house.
