White ants as I've called them all my life are not ants at all but termites. Yesterday I breached the walls of the roadway they'd built from nest to ground. Instantly the soldiers (with the pointy noses) were on duty. Once the perimeters were secured the workers ( the bigger ones with blunt noses) began to move through. This morning's inspection of my vandalism revealed the hole was fixed and you would never know I had been.
Nice close-up of the termites. I'm not fond of these creatures as they are very destructive but they are interesting. I didn't realize the soldiers and workers were so different in appearance
@vernabeth you are so right Beth. They do cause so much damage. Te series of photos I took were very interesting. It clearly showed how organized the colonyis.
