Today we are busy loading away 76 of these big round bales of grassy hay into the barn...some of our preparations for winter which is just around the corner. It is a mixture of lucerne and rhodes grass. Hubby has two big metal spikes on the front of his tractor which he rams into the lower bale and then careful manoeuvres the two bales as one on and off the truck and into the barn. Last week was a busy week - irrigating a newly planted winter feed crop on one farm while mowing, raking and bailing summer hay on another. The "joys" of autumn.
To see is to understand! This is perfect for "L". I was on the road this weekend, and I saw a rancher and his wife out working together, and I thought of you!
@cejaanderson You were on the right track. At bowls while others were sharing their cups of tea in bed and roses on the table stories for Mothers Day Kel explained to all how we had shared some quality time together changing irrigation pipes! LOL.
Looks quite time consuming and interesting! A wonderful capture and I always thought these were rolled into their spots, aha! Sounds quite silly now that I think about it, this makes much more sense! :)
My husband once dreamed about being a farmer. He was well aware of all the hard work, but his folks weren't too keen on the idea and the short story of it is that we live near farm country but never lived or ran one. But we do really appreciate the beauty of hard work and what it produces. Nice one for L!
