The Orange Tree by ubobohobo

The Orange Tree

"There is a light, a step, a call,
This evening on the Orange Tree"

When I spotted this orange tree my mind immediately returned to Australian poet, John Shaw Neilson's poem, "The Orange Tree".

"Listen, the young girl said. There calls
No voice, no music beats on me;
But it is almost sound; it falls
This evening on the orange tree"

A beautiful, sensitive poem where the magical visions of youth rub up against the need for logical explanations that come with age.
Beautifully presented photo with a lovely verse to accompany.

Neat processing. I've not heard the poem but I intend to look it up. I wish orange trees grew around here.

Beautiful poem, and the photo matches it perfectly with the light falling on the orange tree.

A very nice take on the orange tree - now the poem - did you miss the 's' on the fall? It makes a difference!
