What an unusual site - a flock of about 20 red tailed black cockatoos roosting in the dead gum tree beyond the chicken coop. As they waited for the sun to rise there was lots of calling, "Cree, cree, cree," preening and landing practice. Here a female comes in for a landing. The yellow barred tails feathers distinguish her from the males with the red slabs of colour on the under side of their tails.
