Peace Returns

After 5 years of frantic activity Gladstone is settling back down again and peace is returning. The Natural Gas Liquefaction Plant built on Curtis Island in the background is now all but finished and workers are disappearing 500 at a time. For the past five years a continuous stream of boats of all shapes and sizes have scurried back and forth across this seaway. Today there was nothing except for a few privately owned speed boats and a dinghy moving on the high tide. Not good news for business but oh it was a joy to once again be able to find a car park and move through shopping centres with ease. I for one am not sorry the rush is over.
The white material on the foreshore is magnesite being stockpiled for bulk export.
It's amazing what people can extract from the Earth.
