Plum heads on Natal Grass

Having described Natal grass as a useless grass a couple of days ago, I was quite surprised to see the plum heads in feasting on the seed today. You learn something new every day as the saying goes.
A sweet capture -- so delicate !

I think the younger one is learning too! This grass has food to offer if you persevere! Wonderful bird photo!

It appears they have a choice of grass seeds! Natal grass is really pretty close up. Love the birds in action.

Maybe it's just useless to cattle. This scene is delicate and beautiful!

@terryliv They are new arrivals here too. Came in at the height of the drought and have stayed. They have thrived with the last couple of wet seasons. Bird book shows them living further inland in a band north and south of Emerald - Longreach. We also have a couple of flocks of budgerigar that have migrated to the coast as well. Spotted the flock a couple of days ago but too late to grab a camera.

@ubobohobo Budgies!!! Wow they have moved east. Lucky enough to get some shots of huge flo9cks of budgies around Winton some years ago.
Galahs are a fairly recent (last 20 years or so) arrival from the west here in Brisbane. Amazing how they adapt to the changing weather conditions.
