A baby channel - billed cuckoo high up in the canopy of a white cedar tree. It's one of two imposter babies a pair of crows are raising at the moment. Love conquers all. When the cuckoos arrive in November from New Guinea and further north the crows chase them endlessly. However, once tricked and left with a cuckoo baby to raise they are tireless in their devotion to their beloved foster child (or children in this case).
Nice capture Margaret. I posted a shot last year of a blue faced honeyeater feeding a near fully grown Palid Cuckoo that was twice its size. The poor buggers must be run off their feet . . errrr . . flown off their wings
