Female Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo

There is a trio of cockatoos who feast each day on the fruit of this white cedar tree. They pick the bunch of fruit and holding it in their claws, crack and eat the seeds inside one by one.
Thanks for bearing with me and my upload overload. I've had such a busy ten days but at least I'm now back on track. Next to catch up with some commenting.
I've only ever seen pictures of these. I had twelve parrots including a goffins and an Eleanora. Love the idea of them in the wild though

I like the little white speckles on him. So nice that you get to see them in the wild.

@wendyfrost @pandorasecho @888rachel Actually this is the female. She has the spots and a light pinkish red flash under her tail feathers. The male on the other hand is jet black but has 2 brilliant red flashes under his spread tail feathers which you only see, Dixie, as he comes in to land or as he begins to fly. I'm desperately trying to capture the beauty of these flight feathers before the crop of seed finish and the group move on. They are very skittish and fly as soon as I step outside.

I love red tailed blacks. Cape lilac berries have become a favourite food source over here :)
