Brolgas on the Boyne

This farm is between crops and the brolgas are enjoying the fallow ground. The Boyne River flows along the tree line.
Lovely landscape and fabulous birds! Are they Cranes?

They are so big, and don't look worried about you being there at all.

How wonderful. I remover seeing them 'dance' on the Coolum swamps as a child.

@jan11 That's how I remember them - dancing on the wet lands when I was a child going to school. They seemed to disappear for many years but have made a come back in our area in recent years.

Was this on your farm Margaret. Great to hear they are making a comeback

@terryliv That farm is our neighbours just across the road. The birds fly between the two properties each day- camping up in our place during the night and dropping over on to the fields to feed during the day.
