The latest addition to the farmyard is an Australian Native Bee hive. A huge old gum tree was blown down in a storm and we rescued this section of limb which contained a bee hive and hung it in the garden. Now it is one of my daily delights to watch their comings and goings. Workers line the entrance all day to either guard the nest or to fan it to keep it cool. They move aside only to let the gatherers in. One little pollen laden worker is disappearing into the hole bottom right.
