I'm always excited by a new bird. Actually they are not a new sighting but rather the first time they've come down low enough for us to identify them. They are the endemic topknot pigeons. We see this flock of 13-15 birds regularly flying high across the valley from a scrub on the west to one on the eastern side of the valley. This morning they were flying directly into a strong headwind and dropped down to pause briefly in the top of the gum tree behind the house and Kel was lucky enough to be outside putting on his boots and saw them. Well spotted Love. A first sighting for both of us.
