painting with light

I wanted to give the effect of painting with light - I'm open for critiques on how to improve it!
Very cool

I like the effect -- it also makes me curious as a photographer or a viewer about what you did, so I think it 'works'. The cylinder on the far right is quite a bit brighter than the others and that's the only think I might try to soften so my eye isn't drawn to the right so quickly -- but I think that's more a choice than a critique.

I agree with Taffy that this photo makes me curious -- how did you do this? Perhaps if you crop out the last cylinder on the right it would offset the darker one even more, and that could make it more interesting, too. Very cool effect, however you did this . . . (coffee and secret tips sharing time for the Chicago group?)

This is cool, I too wonder how you did this?

@taffy @jyokota @dreamatrix - I started with a line of lit tea lights whose wax were 1 of 3 shades of cream to light brown. I set the camera to shutter priority and left it open long enough to "drag" the candles through the frame.
