Yes, I processed this to the point of it not being a photograph as much as a painting, but I love it, if I'm allowed to say that. The repetition of the five trees, all a different shape and the blue hues of the mountains that fade in color as they retreat farther back and higher up made this a special reminder of the beauty of the scenery just outside our sister school in Niigata prefecture. The famous peak of Hakkai-san is behind the clouds at the top, the mountain for which a famous local sake is named.
Fav! :) So glad you showed me that paint feature in iPhoto! I love how you turned the photograph into a piece of art that highlights the beautiful lines but diffuses the things that are じゃま.
I just looked up Iphoto on app store, and it is getting alot of bad reviews...they mostly complain about how you can never delete an album of somet hing like that. They say you can delete every photo in the album, but the album stays there forever....it got alot of low rankings and a lot of high....and some in the middle. Do you like this app?
@espyetta I'm not sure what to say other than I only had an iPad mini for my Japan trip with a card reader. I usually used Photoforge (no longer available) and iPhoto for any editing and it did the job for me. I'm not a big post-production processor (don't use Photoshop/Aperture, etc), so I'm not perhaps the best to ask about this, but for my purposes, I think it did nicely. I really wanted an app to do some "repairs" to eliminate powerlines and other obstructions and it did a decent job at that...I don't know about deleting albums. Haven't tried that yet.
@vankrey I don't own Photoshop either, so we are on the same page about that. I have done a bit with that free online "photoshop" type program..GIMP. It is hard to use! Whew! Anything I do, I have to look up a tutorial, then step by step, create what I want to. It is not intuitive, so I really don't always understand the "concept" Behind what I am doing, so each time, I have to look up the directions again. I don't retain it. I think the problem is that the tutorials for GIMP and PS are just a list of "do this, then do this, then this" and they don't explain the concepts and vocabulary. (You can tell I am a teacher.Haha) So it sounds a bit like Photo Wizard app in what it will do...but I love that effect you used up there and not sure if I can get that in PW. I think I am going to try it....if it is bad, oh well..$5 wasted. It is worth the risk. Thank you for your response!
