Due to the subzero temps, we are off of school today and tomorrow. This has been the winter of all winters here in Chicagoland since I've lived here. I braved the cold to try to get a shot of a frozen bubble. Let's just say it was harder than I expected. I had just enough time to shoot this one little guy before I started feeling pain in my fingers.

Wow, I've still been unsuccessful at the bubble shot. I was outside one day in the single digit weather and my camera shutter was ultra slow. I kept thinking it might actually be the cold! Do you experience that since you are in the winterwonderland?
I'm impressed!! I was hoping to try this, but no one is selling the bubble toys yet. And I don't know if I'm ready to brave the cold to try a homemade solution. Your orb is as perfect as could be!
@taffy it worked well with just watered down dish soap! I took some time to get a bubble small enough that it had time to freeze and land in a spot I could shoot it - tried again today with a Pinterest version involving corn syrup and baking powder that didn't work all that great, or at least not better than yesterday.
@darylo Hi Daryl, my camera was fine in terms of shutter speed, it's my hands that gave out! I really only had a couple of minutes to capture it in and got lucky with one that froze and stayed in the area!
