New Life Emerging
I found this cacoon attached to a tree in my yard. I suspect it may be a bagworm, in which case it probably would not be a good idea to let it be. Still I found it interesting.

Yes, they are harmful. I had a blue spruce that they almost killed. The eat the folage away in no time.
