Slave Cabin by vernabeth

Slave Cabin

This little cabin is on an old Southern plantation. It is a reminder of slavery days in the south. Not one of our better eras. Apparently, It has been home to someone since those days because there is an air-condictioner in the window.
Nice shot, Beth, in spite of its history.

we saw some almost identical to this recently - on an old plantation outside of New Orleans - they're pretty sparse accomodations - this one's been updated a bit (w/ AC !!)....nice shot & framing, Beth

I love the fact that whoever lives there can "park" their tractor right beside the cabin! And I agree with others, a good reminder for all.

Nice capture and processing. I like the tractor tucked in there too :)

and where else would you park the tractor, but out the back. if only those walls could talk would there have been any happy times.

Nice one. Looks like a lovely place for a cabin despite what has happened there in the past.

II think this is a great shot; but I live in Charleston SC next to the old plantations that still have slave cabins. They are only about 10x15 at the most and don't have window A/C :)
