Ruins of Barnsley Mansion by vernabeth

Ruins of Barnsley Mansion

This old southern plantation home built in Italian style is in Adairsville Geogia. It was partiallly destroyed by a tornado. The gardens surrounding the house have been restored and are beautiful The house was built in !840. There is a lot of dark history surrounding this house. There have been many reports of seeing ghosts of the Barnsley family. Many have seen Godfrey hard at work in the manor. Others have seen his wife,Julia, walking in the gardens. Most inspiring are reports of seeing both Godfrey and Julia together walking the gardens in peace. Others have reported the sounds of footsteps throughout the villas.
These old plantations must have been beautiful.....so much history! Really nice shot.

I love the ruins, it must have been an awesome place before it was destroyed. Too bad no one has tried to restore it but it would probably be extremely expensive. It has a great story with it.
