Sometimes trust does not come naturally. Sometimes you have to work hard to get it. This is my grandson Gabriel DoHun, also known as Gabe. My daughter-in-law was adopted from Korea as a baby and so my son and his wife have decided as a first choice that they are going to adopt their children. Natuarally they decided on Korean children. They brought Gabe (his middle name DoHun was his Korean name at birth) home a year ago last March. He was 13 months old when he was taken from the arms of a foster mother who had cared for him since birth and placed into their arms. Imagine what his little mind was thinking as he was hearing only a strange language, eating food he had never seen before, seeing only unfamiliar faces, getting on an airplane and adjusting to jet lag. So much for a tiny little guy to overcome! But his parents studied up and were prepared to help him through the process. A year later, he has fullly adjusted! I love this shot of them in the pool...his little arms holding on tight to the man he now trusts and calls Daddy.
Trust ..how hard to gain it and how easily it is lost! This is just beautiful your story and the picture and i love them without even knowing them for just loving and trusting their Hearts!! :)
This is such a wonderful shot. Oh, Vicki, I loved reading the story about little Gabe, who obviously has learned to trust his parents. Enjoy your time there with them.
What a beautiful capture and wonderful story about this little guy!! Love your pov and lighting. A treasure. My sister adopted two children from Korea too ... and her life was filled with love and happiness.
What a wonderful story and you have captured the trust so well. It is so wonderful to know that this little boy's life has been so enriched and blessed.
That is great Vicki!! A young couple from our church weren't able to get pregnant, so they decided to adopt. They now have two, boy and girl, that they adopted from Korea. Both are adjusting wonderfully! The little boy will start kindergarten this new school year!
