The Stockings Are Hung

Another thing I have never had before is a mantel over the fire. We always have had a wood stove. So, OK, it is a gas fireplace...missing that warm feel and crackle, but hey!, I have a mantel to decorate now.

That is a beautiful mantel! We only have gas fireplaces in our house too. They aren't real, but the heat they generate is wonderful. That's all we use to heat our house. (Even when it's -15° outside!)

Very pretty- what a pretty mantle. When we moved into our home, we had a fireplace and mantle but the house was electric heat. We were so cold trying to heat the house with the fireplace! But now we have the best of both worlds- we put a woodstove in the fireplace and heat the house by that. I still have my mantle and the wood stove has a glass door so we get to see the fire. I'm sure your gas fireplace keeps you just as cozy! You have a beautiful touch when it comes to decorating!!

I feel as you do. This is lovely. We also had never had a mantle until ten years ago.... and I love being able to decorate it for Christmas. Ours is gas too. Still gives that warm and cozy feeling..
