One day, without knowing it would be the last time, my Dad parked his old tractor next to the little patch of trees out back on our property. For years he had used it to work in our little berry field, then a few more years when we took out the berries to plant nursery stock. And then one day, it was not needed anymore. Dad retired. No more berry field, no more nursery stock. There it sat one year after another until it was covered with a few wild berry vines, broken limbs from the maple tree, and moss, lots and lots of moss. A few weeks ago, my Mom saw it sitting out there all hidden and thought maybe she should clear it off. Dad thought it was kind of silly to work so hard on an old broken down useless thing. It took a while to get it done, but that old tractor was in plain view for all of us to see last Sunday on Easter and remembered the days we used to see Dad or Mom riding on it as they worked the ground to grow the berries that provided us with extra money as we grew up. I remember riding with one of them and even getting to drive it myself. And if you use your imagination, I think you can spot the bunny on the front.
Just caught sight of this as I go to bed...have a great affinity with tractors so love this shot & the story behind it.......Harry has just had his old tractor done up ......see my pots, so there is hope for this old girl yet Vicki!
I totally love this image AND your story! It is wonderful and both would make a lovely little book to give your Dad! It is precious...both in image and word. And mega FAV
Vicki, awesome POV and composition. It looks like it's been here and retired for quite awhile. Looks like a real antique and relic from the past and has probably seen better days..
A great story behind the beautiful and nice tractor pic. thanks for sharing it so frank. Fav fot the story . fav. for the nice pic.
Thank you for you visits , the fav. and those nice comments .
I love old tractors (we've got one at the stable, it is still sort of working but does look and is old), the way time and nature takes over and how they tell their own stories. This is a very beautiful shot, the rusty colours as well as the greens (the bunny), the POV. The story behind it makes it even more beautiful. Fav,
