I Googled to see what a calling bird was and didn't get an actual bird. So a peacock is the bird I chose. When I was a little girl, my Dad had some peacocks roaming around our place. If anything startled them, they would call out to each other as they flew up into the trees...it was the loudest HELP! HELP! and actually sounded human. Our neighbors loved us.
Your very own peacocks? Interesting. We have neighborhoods here in southern CA. that have free roaming peacocks. It would be interesting, but I guess they can be loud and messy.
We never had peacocks but I was at a Sculpture Garden that had them once and it's really uncanny how much the sound like a human when the call out like that. Crazy! Works well for your "12 Days" series.
