Horatio & George by wakelys

Horatio & George

This sculpture by local artist Vincent Gray.
It celebrates the close friendship between Admiral Lord Nelson and Sir George Murray who was born in Chichester.
I imagine them climbing down from the plinth at night and have a walkabout the streets of Chichester reminiscing over old times.
Although Sir George was Nelsons right hand man he was not at the Battle of Trafalgar for personal reasons, so remains largely unknown.
Brilliant interpretation

Beautiful sculpture. Interesting information. I visited the villa in Sicily where Nelson lived while leading the British flotilla in the Mediterranean.

Ha ha love your narrative. Took me back to RAG day when I was at Uni in the UK. There was a statue of Queen Victoria in the city, and we painted footprints from the statue to the public toilets nearby and then back to the statue where QV was sitting. It looked as though she had visited her other 'throne' in the night. ha ha.

Susan - thanks for your get pushed challenge.
For yours - how about a black and white abstract. I looked through your photos and they are so vibrant and lovely, I thought maybe something that could be quite different from your usual style?
