New Years Day Ladies by wakelys

New Years Day Ladies

A dull grey day but the mild weather had enticed many to the beach. These ladies kindly posed for me in exchange for me sending them photos so phone numbers shared. This was the first time for the lady in blue on the right. I think that she enjoyed it so much that she will be repeating the experience. There enthusiasm almost convinced me that this was a good idea. When I used the word almost I mean that I thought about it for a nanosecond.
As long as a nano-second?? What a fabulous celebration photo.

They’re brave. I’ve never been tempted to do a polar bear swim. Not even for a nanosecond. Happy New Year Susan

FAV This made my heart stop beating for just a second and several parts of my body clenched up! I cannot imagine jumping in the water on January 1! It could not have been warm! I applaud you for being out in the cold if not in the water and getting this terrific photo

LOL. I love the beanies especially the Xmas pudding beanies on two of the ladies. The thought off swimming with beanies at all was a stopper for me.

Wonderful capture, those smiles are amazing. I think that mine would have been more of a grimace!

I can't think of anything worse but certainly admire the people that can brave the water. Great capture of these three women and their fab knitted hats!

I am assuming this sea temperature is only about 10º Celsius?! That is soooo cold. I had a 10 minute dip in Lake Wakatipu a couple of months ago (encouraged by a friend). The temp was around 11º Celsius and it sure was cold, but after getting out I really felt amazingly good!! I think it releases endorphins or something!!

Brr! But people feel they have achieved something special when they do this. And indeed they have. Fun photo with nice smiles and a true feeling of friendship and fellowship.

Wonderful photo!! I love the hats and the cheerful happy mood. I think it’s brilliant to swim in ice-cold water. One feels invigorated and refreshed.

Three happy ladies having great fun and you captured the beauty of the moment perfectly. Now you made me yearn for Summer so I can go to swim. I wouldn't be excited to jump in if the sun is hiding though.
January 2nd, 2023
