A dull grey day but the mild weather had enticed many to the beach. These ladies kindly posed for me in exchange for me sending them photos so phone numbers shared. This was the first time for the lady in blue on the right. I think that she enjoyed it so much that she will be repeating the experience. There enthusiasm almost convinced me that this was a good idea. When I used the word almost I mean that I thought about it for a nanosecond.
FAV This made my heart stop beating for just a second and several parts of my body clenched up! I cannot imagine jumping in the water on January 1! It could not have been warm! I applaud you for being out in the cold if not in the water and getting this terrific photo
I can't think of anything worse but certainly admire the people that can brave the water. Great capture of these three women and their fab knitted hats!
I am assuming this sea temperature is only about 10º Celsius?! That is soooo cold. I had a 10 minute dip in Lake Wakatipu a couple of months ago (encouraged by a friend). The temp was around 11º Celsius and it sure was cold, but after getting out I really felt amazingly good!! I think it releases endorphins or something!!
Brr! But people feel they have achieved something special when they do this. And indeed they have. Fun photo with nice smiles and a true feeling of friendship and fellowship.
We have a group around here that does something like that every year. They do seem to enjoy it. I think I’ll stay warm. Wonderful shot of the 3 happy friends.
i did this in my first winter in canada. i had the flu as a result! 😂 i had thought it was an idiotic idea. and indeed, it was! aces on the shot of these lovely and brave ladies!
Three happy ladies having great fun and you captured the beauty of the moment perfectly. Now you made me yearn for Summer so I can go to swim. I wouldn't be excited to jump in if the sun is hiding though.
Happy New Year
