I live a good life surrounded by loving and caring people. This sign was on the wall in front of me while visiting a public toilet today above the sink while washing my hands. I thought long and hard about the plight of others. Also not to take things in life for granted. I was especially moved by the need for a modern slavery helpline in this day and age.
Good to know the support is there. I used to work for a counselling agency and worked in the drug and alcohol section. Our agency also covered, domestic violence, relationship counselling, financial counselling, family counselling, sexual assault, etc. Sadly, some of our clients covered more than one area of counselling. I spent quite a few occasions trying to get someone into a refuge when they appeared at our agency just as we were closing for the day.
