Ansel Adams - Not!

@suez1e Suggested that I presented a photo in the style of Ansel Adams for my get pushed challenge.
My biggest challenge has been the appalling wet weather so far this week. Secondly unlike the beautiful mountains and scenery that Ansel had to work with are lacking on the South coast of the UK where I live.
I could have thrown in the towel and asked for another challenge but I was determined to find something. So armed with a camera on Black & White setting and a little bit of Snapseed magic this is my offering.
Interestingly the church is only just above sea level and not on a hill. amazing what camera angle can do. The foreground is the shoreline on a low tide.
So if nothing else it is fair to say that I have been well and truly pushed.
@suez1e thank you for this challenge. This is as close as I can get to the style of Ansel Adams for all of the above reasons but really wanted to give it a go.

That was a tough challenge. Even few professionals can manage a photo like Ansel Adams’, but it says the STYLE of Ansel Adams and I think you got that and a beautiful dramatic sky and you accepted the challenge. So I would call that a win.

Well I have just had to ask our friend Google about this chap, as I am a bit of a philistine when it comes to photographers & artists. Looking at what I found, I would say this is definitely in his style. Lots to see in this shot too.

Oh you got his contrasts spot on and genius idea to use the Folly Tower and trees to emulate him!!

Well done, you captured some wonderful layers and contrasts here.

Well if you squint the tree line looks like mountains and you got the contrasts perfectly in my opinion. I think you did a remarkable job

Nicely done for the challenge. You got the contrasts well.

Maybe not, but a very good try. I think the weather added drama. You’ve done well with the exposure.

Nice b&w! Not a very fair challenge if you don't have the scenery...
