Our little state government started a no plastic bag policy when shopping. The only plastic bags that are available are bio-degradable and reusable which you pay 10 cents for at the check out. This is what I have been doing when I buy more than an armful because I keep forgetting to pack my green bags. Hopefully this will remind me to put some in the car...
It's been that way here for about a year. I keep my own bags in the car for shopping but somehow, I often manage to forget to take them into the store so I end up paying 10 cents for paper ones. Then I use the paper bags for trash.
