P1040653 Muse-in-March. Wind.North wind doth blow

We took a ride out along the North Bank of the river Nene to the Dog-in-Doublet lock and sluice gate. McCains chip factory wind turbines can be seen on the horizon. The lock gates prevent salt water passing up the river and also maintain water levels in Peterborough. The flooded fields on the left are used for skating on when they are frozen in the winter.
I feel a bit close to the water when I view this shot! Good one for the word!

@quietpurplehaze It is a very sad place the road runs along the side of the river and 5 lives have been lost this year already with quite a few cars entering the water on the bends. Barriers have been put up in the last few weeks and a 40mph speed limit now, over the years numerous people have lost there lives.
